Description
The best exhaust manifold (header) that has ever been produced for the Mini. It´s a tight fit due to the size, and the angle of the pipes coming in to the collector, but on big engines and high revving engines it is simply the best. Nothing we´ve ever tested comes close. 4 more Bhp than the best English ones. It all started in the late eighties, when the Volvos in Sweden were getting too fast for us. After winning a lot of championships, we found ourselves in the position, where we needed a lot of rain or luck to win an event. We spoke to some American guys, who also had problems with the good old Mini stuff that wasn«t fast enough. When we had exchanged ideas, we saw a few things that could be interesting to test. The exhaust manifold was one of them. We contacted some old friends in California, S&S Headers ,who had made a lot of special headers for racing cars and motorbikes. They made a prototype, and after a few changes, the real thing was built. The 3-1 header wasn«t meant to be sold to the public, only to a few fellow racers. But as the years passed, and the header proved to be a winner in America and in Europe, we decided to produce it for sale to everyone. Due to the risk of companies copying the header, you can only order the header here. We can ship world wide. The tubes are mandrel bent, which is expensive but gives the same area in the bends as on the straight parts. Extra thick tubing for long life. Most of the English LCB«s are built to fit all kind of inlets e.g. the SU«s. This means a compromise and lesser bhp. We built ours to produce as much bhp as possible, not to fit all cars without alterations. Although during our testing we found out that some of the leading makes didn«t fit at all well!
