California Car Duster® the original with plastic handle

The Original California Car Duster® literally works like magic. It utilizes the proven technology of baking a special paraffin wax into 100% cotton strands to assure that dust is lifted and removed, not just pushed around. How do you clean the Duster?

The California Car Duster has a baked-in paraffin wax treatment that safely picks up dust from the vehicle's finish. The mop will begin to turn brown from the collected dust, but do not attempt to wash the mop until the duster is pushing the dust around and not picking it up. We have always said the "the dirtier it gets, the better it works". Washing the California Car Duster can possibly pull the wax out of the mop and should only be attempted as a final option.

For routine maintenance, we recommend shaking the car duster after each use and occasionally spraying it with an air hose to remove larger dust particles. Below are the suggested steps to washing the car duster:

Wash the duster by hand, leaving the mop on the handle

Clean the duster in cool water mixed with a small amount of a mild detergent (i.e. Woolite)

Rinse clean with fresh, cool water

Let the duster air dry (this may take a couple of days)

Please note: Washing the California Car Duster does not guarantee that the product will be rejuvenated. If the car duster's performance does not improve after the wash, then we suggest replacing it with a new California Car Duster.
